Native Plants R Us!

Updated: Sep 8, 2019

Today was one of those bright spring days full of promise and possibility. Blooming Boulevards was delighted to be at the North American Native Plant Society's annual sale, held this year at the Riverwood Conservancy in Mississauga.

All day throngs of smiling people scooped up armfuls of bellwort and dogbane, hepatica and helenium, trillium and coneflower, admiring their plants as they waited in the long checkout line. Angie and I watched the happy crowd from our exhibitor table, when I had a moment between signing up new members and answering questions about species choices for boulevard gardens.

It's wonderful to think of all the hundreds of plants in their new homes, growing and producing generations of seedlings that may, in time, develop resilience to climate change. A great time was had by all!
